
Manua Das
Born in 1963, Manua Das (Manoranjan Das) is an accomplished poet, translator, content developer, script writer, film maker, and above all a commentary-voice artist with an illustrative career spanning 38 years.
He has published three books of Odia poems: Mahufena (Beehive), Kahari Akhire Nida Nahin (Sleepless Eyes) and Antabujula (Visceral Life). He is well–known for his unique style of writing, bold voice and radicalism. His poems evoke a deep sense of human suffering with a signature of architectural beauty of poetic form. His translations from Odia into English include a book of poems, two short story collections and a novel. He has also undertaken many translation assignments of different narratives from Odia to English for different Government and private agencies.
He has written and directed hundreds of docu-feature and non-fiction films for Government of India and Odisha, various UN agencies working in Odisha, Ford Foundation and many organisations. Some of his films enlisted in national film festivals and TV serials made for Doordarshan, Bhubaneswar were extremely popular and found to be the trend-setters in Odisha.
He is well–known for his original creative expressions and effective communication in all the works that he is engaged with.
